Summary:

Welcome to the Tri-Realm Republic, a harmonious union of worlds in which its three peoples—human, Jirian, and Zasskell—cohabitate in civil alliance.

But Laura, who’s just lost her job as a peacekeeper in the Silver Guard, suspects not everything is as shipshape as it seems.

A strange illness has cropped up in the last few months, with her own father among the afflicted. She has an inkling about what’s causing it, but it doesn’t bode well for the fate of the Republic, and to make matters worse, nobody seems to share her suspicions—including her senator mother.

But maybe Saeed, an aspiring alchemist with a peculiar connection to plants, will be able to help. He’s got a good reason, after all: his brother’s sick too. While fighting for his dream job at a burgeoning alchemy company, Saeed will stop at nothing to craft a potion to heal his brother, but soon enough, he’ll find out he can’t do it alone.

With apathy from the government, it’s up to Laura and Saeed to carve out an unconventional path to the cure—all the while finding far more mystery swirling beneath the surface of their world than either of them ever imagined.

My Review:

4.5 out of 5 stars. It definitely earned that .5 at the end of this story, of which I will not spoil. I don't spoil books in any of my reviews, I find that to be rude and no fun. But what I will tell you is that Paige Stonard has such an amazing writing style. I absolutely adored her characters and the uniqueness they hold. I think my absolute favorite character was Saeed. He had such an attitude but at the same time he was very gentle. Then you have Laura who was such a perfect character. Well, not perfect because then that would be annoying, but you know what I mean.

The plot really held a lot of details which helped create a perfect visual picture in my mind. I truly adored this book and all that it held. Also, this cover was absolutely beautiful. I received an actual physical copy and the cover was so soft. It's one of the softest covers I own I believe. It's truly beautiful.

Pros:

Amazing Unique Characters. Saeed being one of these perfect beings!

The plot was truly amazing and held a lot of detail.

Was able to create a mental image and play the book in my head like a movie. (Which what we all want)

Grammar was PERFECT!

Slow-burn Romance was everything.

Cons:

There were a few chapters and scenes that were slow and made it hard to keep going. But I was able to continue.

______

Over-all this earned a definite 4.5 out of 5 stars. Thank you Paige Stonard for creating such a wonderful story!
