So it's finally here! My first book review! What a wonderful book to start this off with too! Rise: Order of the Kriger's is definitely a good book. Written by Jennifer Anne Davis it receives a 4 out of 5 stars.

Summary: The people of Nelebek live in fear of persecution from the evil Morlet, who reigns with a dark and destructive magic. The kingdom’s only hope lies with the Order of the Krigers—twelve warriors with mysterious powers linked to magical weapons.

For over a century, Morlet has been annihilating the Order, picking them off one by one. Eleven Krigers have been hunted down, tortured, and imprisoned in his dungeon. Now, only one remains.

Sixteen-year-old Kaia survives by keeping her head down and minding her own business. But when she finds herself in the middle of a public execution where the mysterious Morlet is in attendance, an odd compulsion she can’t resist comes over her.

Kaia looks into Morlet’s eyes.

Soon, an ancient power awakens and Kaia can no more blend into the scenery. Will she heed the call of the Krigers or will Morlet’s dark magic destroy the last of the Order? My Review: This was definitely a good book to start off on. Extremely well written with many pros! I was intrigued by this book's cover and I know "Don't judge a book by it's cover." Can we all admit we do this anyway? If it isn't a cool cover, we simply just aren't as intrigued. It drew me in and I was immediately captivated by her story-telling! Prologue's are usually 50/50, whether you get a good prologue or a bad one. Jennifer Anne Davis succeeded in giving an amazing prologue. One that made you want to keep reading. The Romance aspect was very low, but was there just enough that it made you interested in knowing more. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves strong female characters, fantasy, or has loved the book Graceling by Kristin Cashore. My Pros:

Author has a great amount of description. This not only keeps you interested, but helps you melt into this world. (Which..we know we all love!)

I've had some problem's with grammar in a lot of books, but Jennifer Anne Davis succeeds in the fact that she has amazing grammar! This book is extremely well written!

Like mentioned above the prologue was well written and definitely helped interest you in finding out the rest of the story.

Plot, something fellow authors and aspiring writers know is a hard topic. Plots aren't easy to write, but it seems it came quite easy to Jennifer Anne Davis! The Plot is extremely well thought out!

One of the things I loved about this book was that she introduced character's with curses and powers that are extremely unique. I've never read a book with character's quite as unique.

My Cons (Hint..there aren't many):

There are only two cons that I have and they really aren't that big, which is the exact reason this gets a 4 out of 5 stars!

The first being that she swaps between using Soldat and Soldier every now and then, whether this be intentional or not, it can get quite confusing!

The second and last being that even with the plot being well thought out and well written, it is slightly anti-climactic. For those who want a big climactic scene, give this a shot, you might like it and you might not!

My Favorite Quote:

"I stood on the edge of a great cliff. One step forward and I'd fall to my death. I couldn't remain on that ledge, always wondering and never moving." _________________________________________________________________________

I would definitely recommend this book! Jennifer Anne Davis did a wonderful job of bringing her story to life!
