Crash Course by Alyssa Wilde. 5 out of 5 stars. Romance. New Adult. Slow-burn. Teacher/Student trope (I know you love this trope..admit it guys..you love it. It's the best trope out there)
Seriously though, this is one amazing book and I truly recommend it to anyone who really just loves a slow-burn with a beautiful outcome. It's so worth it.

Trigger Warnings: Car Crash/Fatal Accident/Injuries from Car Accident
Summary:
"I never thought I would see him again. Not in the real world. Not here."
After Arden Hart gets into a horrible collision with a drunk driver, her life comes to a standstill. Now, she’s a year behind her peers in graduating high school, college plans are on hold indefinitely, and nightmares of that horrifying night plague her every time she shuts her eyes. The only way she can cope with her past is by detaching from the present, so Arden makes it her mission to isolate herself.
Everything changes when Henry Ames, the young, mysterious guy who saved her from the car wreck, unexpectedly becomes the new Creative Writing teacher at her high school. Much to Arden’s frustration, his presence is a constant reminder of the night she’s tried so hard to forget. When Henry is forced to help her with an assignment that confronts her buried emotions, she has no choice but to face her trauma head-on. What she doesn’t expect is the immediate connection she feels to Henry. As the two begin to develop an undeniable bond, Arden comes to a startling realization—the one person she cannot have is the only person she doesn’t want to push away.
Though Henry is adamant that their relationship remains professional, neither can deny their growing feelings. When boundaries blur, emotions run high, and secrets from that terrible night emerge, Arden must decide if the fight for Henry’s heart is worth risking her own.
My Review:
This is one of my favorite books. I mean, I have quite a few favorite books, but this is definitely one of them. The way she truly captured the trauma of a car accident was really just amazing. As a person who has her own trauma with car accidents it hit really close to home. To be honest, I picked this up not having read the little blurb, and I'm glad I didn't. If I would've read that blurb, I would've put it down and never picked it up. I don't read any books with car crashes in it. It causes quite a lot of anxiety for me.
But even with not knowing. I got to the part where the accident happened and I wasn't sure I could continue. Something told me I should. Something told me that this book would be the first book I ever finish that has a car accident in it. And I did. I was so proud of myself for finishing this book, but not only was I proud...it became my favorite.
Alyssa Wilde was able to capture such description and the exact emotions someone does feel after having either witnessed or been in a car accident. This book was one of the biggest steps for me. I'm so glad to have picked this book up and I hope you do too. It was amazing. All of the characters truly made me fall in love and I honestly felt I had such a deeper connection with all of them due to my history.
It also has a teacher-student trope, which, I mean...you can't pass up. That is like the ultimate trope. I know you may be like, no..no I hate student-teacher tropes. Admit it..you adore them. You absolutely love teach-student tropes and that's perfectly ok..because they are the trope of all tropes.
I would definitely recommend to go and buy this book immediately. It's simply fantastic!
Pros:
Amazing Characters. They were extremely easy to side with and understand.
The writing was superb. I didn't find any grammatical errors and it was a smooth read.
I couldn't put this book down. I think I read it in like one sitting.
The accident was written well and held so much truth to how people feel after being in and seeing one.
Just an amazing story over-all. No cons at all.
